First Golf Day Fundraiser is a huge success for TUYFC

TUYFC has had a fantastic start to the season, not just with solid score-lines but also with a successful inaugural Golf Day to boot.
The inaugural Golf Day took place at Sapey Golf Club on Friday 30th September. We were blessed with good weather and a fantastic turnout of teams supporting the event. The total made on the day stands at a fantastic £1200.
This money is crucial to the progression of the club and will help fund the growing costs of running 9 youth teams, with age groups ranging from 5-16 years. Also, we run coaching sessions to over 30 children between the ages of 4-6 years. This ensures the grass roots of Tenbury Youth Football Club have a fun, positive and educational start to their footballing.
Paul Staples - Chairman of the club was delighted with the support we received “The annual fee per child paid by the parents unfortunately does not cover our growing costs of the club, therefore we needed to organise some fundraising events, the Golf Day was a perfect opportunity and we had fantastic support from local companies who helped sponsor the event and also parents who donated raffle prizes and baked cakes for the halfway house. Raising this amount of money will go a long way to help the club move forward. Thank you to all golfers who supported the day.”
TUYFC have also organised a Halloween disco in October, a race night in November and a Christmas bingo evening in December. Dates will be confirmed and we hope for more support from the local community.
The club is also making an appeal for more coaches and coaching assistants to help with the growing numbers. Paul Staples added “The club is looking for anyone who would like to help with the running of the club or coaching. If anyone of any age would like to help please contact the club at tenburyunitedyouth@gmail.com"
